Meg Olesen- Sebeny died December 13, 2014, at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.
She was born in Conway, South Carolina, on May 20, 1958, to Gloria and Duane Olesen.
Her father was a civilian attached to the United States Air Force. As a result, Meg lived in several locations as a child including a 2 1/2 year stint in Germany. Her mother was a registered nurse.
In 1970, Meg moved to the Los Angeles area. In 1980, she married Thomas Sebeny. She had her first daughter, Renee, that year. In 1983, Meg had her second daughter, Robin. Meg worked as a waitress and put herself through nursing school. She was able to raise two daughters, go to school and work all at the same time. She then followed in her mother’s footsteps and became a registered nurse. She demonstrated great skill and compassion and was subsequently promoted as a nursing supervisor for the night shift. She moved to Cheyenne in 2010 and resided with her father.
Meg was a unique and strong woman. She taught her daughters many important lessons and set a powerful example for them during their childhood. She taught them to be independent and to stand up for what they believed, no matter the consequences. As young girls, Meg taught them that “girls can do anything that boys can do,” and they grew up believing that. She showed her daughters the importance and power of working hard to accomplish their goals.
She is eternally loved by her family.
Meg is survived by her father, Duane; daughters, Renee and Robin; sister, Karen; brother, Mark; ex-husband, Thomas; best friend, Matt; among many others who have loved and will continue to love her.
