Donald C. Alexander, 83, of Marquette, MI, formerly of Cheyenne passed away March 25, 2017 at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette.
He was born November 9, 1933 in Rock Springs, WY to Lloyd and Celia Alexander. He served in the USAF in the Security Service stationed in Germany and had fond memories of friendships made during his service. His lifelong interest in photography began while overseas.
He graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1960 with a degree in civil engineering and worked as a bridge engineer for the Wyoming Highway Department. He also held a business degree from UW. He married Rosemary Hagood on December 2, 1967 in Cheyenne. He retired from the State of Wyoming Data Services Division. He had many side jobs including computer programming and owner of Yummies Donut shop.
Don is remembered as intelligent. He always put the needs of others before himself. He had a good sense of humor and loved puns. He also loved fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, his dog companions, photography, western art, music and good (hot) Cajun food. He was most at home where he grew up, in the mountains of Wyoming.
He is survived by his children, Nicole Alexander of Marquette, MI and Ken Alexander of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Jack Grant and Evelyn Grant; and sister Anita Alexander of Springtown, TX.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, and his parents.
