Lester "Les" Winebarger
Lester C. Winebarger, 75, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on February 2, 2018 at Davis Hospice Center.
Les was born on November 25, 1942 in Coeburn, Virginia, to Larkin and Sally Winebarger.
Les began his adult life serving in the United States Air Force and retired from the Air National Guard. After leaving the Air Force, Les was a physician’s assistant and a paramedic in Ohio. He moved his family to Cheyenne in 1989 where he ran the base optical shop and began working at the Lamp Lounge and ultimately purchasing it in 1989. The Lamp became his first love where he welcomed everyone and met some of his dearest friends. Les was a huge supporter of the south side community and “No” was not in his vocabulary. He would help anyone that asked him. He had a heart of gold and was loved by everyone. He enjoyed gambling, fishing in Alaska and traveling. Les dearly loved his family, friends and his dogs. He will be missed.
Les is survived by two children, Stephanie Deforest and Lester Winebarger; four grandchildren, Sara, Elise, Mackenzie and Naliece; sisters, Edith Salyers and Angie Sprowl; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Les was preceded in death by brothers, Leroy, Jim and Fred Winebarger; and sisters, Buretta Sword and Delia Salyers.
