A Vigil for the Deceased will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, December 24th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss as celebrant. An interment service will follow at Olivet Cemetery. Ms. Soyla Elenor (Monjaras) Gonzales, 83, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Sunday evening, December 20, 2009, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Soyla was born July 1, 1926, in Cheyenne, a daughter of the late Ben C. and Agnes (Compos) Monjaras. Soyla was a lifelong resident of Cheyenne. She managed several restaurants, beginning with the Trail Restaurant, then the Plains Hotel and later for the Downtowner, finishing her career as a manager for Capital City Super Foods. An extremely generous person, she would provide support to anyone that needed her help. She was loved by everyone who came in contact with her and knew her. She is survived by her brother, Bob Monjaras and wife, Connie, of Cheyenne; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Monjaras, wife of Ted Monjaras, of North Platte, NE, and Doris Monjaras, wife of Ben Monjaras, of Cheyenne; seven nephews, Kim Hall and wife, Susan, and children, Jordan and Lindsey, Steve Monjaras, Jerry Monjaras, John Monjaras, David Monjaras, Eddie Monjaras and Paul Monjaras; four nieces, Christine McHenry, Theresa Gallagher, Olivia Lundy and Jennifer Monjaras; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and special cousin and caretaker, Dora O’Leary. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Inez Hall; three brothers, Ted Monjaras, Ben Monjaras and Ed Monjaras; a niece, Susan Monjaras; and a nephew, Anthony Monjaras.
