Albert Romero, Jr.

Albert Romero, 85, of Cheyenne passed away at home on July 6, 2026. Albert was born September 22, 1940 in Las Tusas, New Mexico. Cheyenne was his home after marrying Erlinda Valenzuela on January 22, 1960 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Albert enjoyed gardening, carpentry, wood-working, year-round fishing, and spending time with his family, friends and dogs at his and Erlinda's two cabins near Granite and Crystal reservoirs, as well as their second home in Henderson, Nevada. He worked for Read Ready Mix and Simon Contractors for over 60 years, retiring as a superintendent in 2019.

Albert is survived by his wife, Erlinda; daughters, Eleanor (Matt) Petry and Jennifer Tribble of Cheyenne; and sisters, Maria (Mark) Gallegos of Cheyenne, and Lupe Rael and Margie Baca of Las Vegas, New Mexico.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Onofre and Alberto Romero of Las Vegas, New Mexico; sister, Della Romero of Las Vegas, New Mexico; brothers, Greg (Elsie) Trujillo and Damian (Rosita) Trujillo of Cheyenne; sister-in-law, Elsie (Greg) Trujillo of Cheyenne; and brothers-in-law, Felix (Lupe) Rael and Manuel (Margie) Baca of Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Cremation has taken place, and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27 at St. Mary's Cathedral, with a reception to follow at Hartmann Hall.  Services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
