Barbara W. Dey, a beloved figure in the Cheyenne community, passed away on January 18, 2026, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on May 28, 1931, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Barbara was a lifelong resident of the area who dedicated her life to both her family and her career.

She graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1949 and initiated her retail career at Sweetbriars. Her commitment and talent shone brightly as she transitioned through positions at Fashion Bar, Stage, and Dillards, where she ultimately retired. Barbara was known for her remarkable sense of humor, quick wit, and the joy she brought to those around her, leaving everyone guessing what delightful thing she might say next.

Barbara's passions extended beyond her professional life; she had an enduring love for gardening, crocheting, sewing, and a variety of crafts. These hobbies not only brought her joy but also allowed her to share her talents with family and friends, enriching their lives as well.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Gehrig (Lou), and son, Wayne Dey (Kathy), alongside her three granddaughters, Aaron Dey, Jade Dey, and Katie Mills (Nick). Additionally, she leaves behind two great grandsons, Alexzander and Archer Mills, and several nieces and nephews who will carry her legacy forward.
