Bessie LeJeune

Bessie Marie Lejeuene (West) 90, passed away peacefully on July 17 2025 at Davis Hospice. She was born December 24, 1934. In Corydon Iowa to Robert West and Lorene West (Cox). She was the fourth of 8 children. The family moved to Pine Bluffs in 1940 to work on the potato farms. They lived there for a few years then moved to Cheyenne. She followed the love of her life, Wilson Lejeune from Elton Louisiana, to Ramstein Germany where they were married. They came back to the United States where Wilson was stationed at England AFB in Alexandria Louisiana. Then Bessie worked at the base elementary school as a Teacher’s Aide for 15 years. Once Wilson retired from the civil service, they bought a camper and traveled the country. Bessie and Wilson moved to Cheyenne in 2003. Back in Cheyenne she would volunteer at ST. Josephs and was a Foster Grandparent at Dildine, the children would call her Grandma Bessie. After her husband passed, she traveled throughout the world with lady friends from Louisiana.

Bessie is proceeded in death by her husband, mom, dad, and 7 siblings. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cheyenne, WY on Tuesday, July 29 at 11:00AM. An internment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
