Beverly Glicco

d. June 18, 2010

A funeral service and celebration of life are planned for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church, 108 East 18th Street in Cheyenne, Wyoming, with a private interment service to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Our beloved wife, sister, mother and grandmother, Beverly (Bev) Glicco, passed away into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Friday, June 18, 2010 due to complications from a long-term condition. She was 76 years old. Bev was born Beverly June Moberly on June 30, 1933, in Montrose, Colorado, the youngest of three girls born to Curtis and Esther Moberly. She grew up in the Durango, Colorado, area and graduated from Durango High School in 1951 while working as a telephone switchboard operator. She married William Thomas (Tom) Wiseman on January 10, 1954 in Ignacio, Colorado. Bev and Tom raised three children and owned and operated their own hardware store in Ignacio for many years. She was a member of the Ignacio Community Presbyterian Church, sang with the Durango Choral Society and was involved in many other community-oriented activities and organizations. Bev and Tom later divorced. Bev married George (Stoney) Glicco on November 26, 1983 in Durango, Colorado. They re-located to Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 1984 where she was employed with the State of Wyoming in the Attorney General’s office, from which she retired in March, 1999. She was a lifetime member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cheyenne, sang with the Cheyenne City Sounds for several years and will be sorely missed. Bev is remembered for her zest for life and her love for her family. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, working in her backyard garden, watching NASCAR, and driving her two prized automobiles, a pair of classic Pontiac Firebirds she affectionately called Blue ‘bird and Yellow ‘bird. Bev was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Shirley (Whit) Whittington; and her first husband. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Stoney Glicco of Cheyenne; her sister, Helen Lee (Glade) Stowell of Arvada, Colorado; and her three children, Gretchen Germer of Palmer, Alaska, Loretta Lori (Tom) Lancaster of Casper, Wyoming; William Lawrence Larry Wiseman, II, of Cheyenne and her step-son, Stoney Wade Glicco of Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Mathew Lancaster of Jackson, Wyoming, Tiffany (Warren) Appel of Casper, Wyoming, Brandon Germer of Anchorage, Alaska, and Jennifer Germer of Anchorage, Alaska; and one step-grandson, Brandon Glicco of Cheyenne. Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans in her name.
