Carlinnie Gay Disspain

Carlinnie Gay Disspain, lovingly known as Gay, passed away at home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on September 15, 2026, at the age of 66. She was born on March 7, 1960, in Cumming, Georgia, and carried with her throughout her life the warmth of her Georgia roots.

Gay was a member of Silver Shoals Baptist Church in Forsyth County, Georgia, where she lived for many years before moving to Cheyenne in 2023. Her life was grounded in faith, family, and the simple joys that brought her peace. She graduated from high school in Forsyth County, Georgia, and in the years that followed worked at Tyson’s Chicken Plant and also devoted herself to the important work of being a homemaker.

She found happiness in reading, watching birds, and learning about Indian traditions and history. She was also known for her gift with plants, having a green thumb like her Granny Smith. The beauty she appreciated in the world around her reflected the care and gentleness she brought into the lives of those who knew her.

Above all, Gay’s greatest pride was her family. Her proudest moments were being a loving mother to her three boys and knowing she would be a Nanna to Bryson and Logan Dockery. During the years she lived in Georgia, she especially treasured the time she spent with her children and her only two grandchildren, cherishing every memory and every moment shared with family.

She is survived by her sons, Zachary Quintin Mitchell of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Dustin Allen Dockery and his wife Julie Suddeth-Dockery of Dawsonville, Georgia, and Travis Calvin Dockery of Dahlonega, Georgia. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Bryson and Logan Suddeth-Dockery, who brought her great joy. Gay is also survived by her brothers, Marty Bolton and Max Bolton, and their families, who remain to carry forward her memory with love.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harley Bolton; her mother, Elizabeth Bolton; her brother, Jason Bolton; and her grandparents, Noah and Dorothy Smith.

Gay held close a special wish to see Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone. In loving memory of her, her son Dustin will honor that wish by taking her to those places before returning her to Cumming, Georgia, where she will be laid to rest beside her parents.

Carlinnie Gay Disspain will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to her family, and the quiet ways she made life more beautiful. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her sons, grandchildren, brothers, and all who were blessed to know her.
