Catherine Ruth Boyer, 83, born November 14, 1941 to Lawrence and Catherine Enslow in San Francisco, California, the eldest of six children. She passed away September 6, 2025 in Lehi, Utah.
Catherine is survived by her husband, David, and her children, Heather, Jennifer, Denise, Brad, Kelly, and Matt. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Catherine enjoyed telling stories of her childhood in San Francisco and the time she spent at her grandparents' house in their garden, and helping her grandmother make flower arrangements. She spent many holidays at their house surrounded by friends and family.
Catherine spent most of her adult life caring for and teaching children. Being the oldest child, she would often help with her younger siblings and eventually took teaching classes to develop those early skills into a career. She was a preschool teacher for over 20 years and enjoyed seeing them grow and go off to college.
Catherine did her best to support her children's activities, whether it was music, dance lessons, or track and basketball. All of her children were able to attend college and graduate with Bachelor's degrees and one with a Ph.D. She found a great deal of pleasure in seeing her daughters and sons do well in any of their endeavors. She also enjoyed seeing her grandchildren grow, develop talents, and begin careers and families of their own.
Ice skating was her absolute favorite activity, and she dedicated many hours to looking through figure skating books and watching any and all skating events or shows on television. Many hours were spent at the closest available ice rink, even if she had to drive nearly an hour to get there.
She found joy in the light-hearted things in life and loved finding opportunities to share those things with her children or any of the children she taught. She was quick to laugh and sometimes laughed her way through an entire sentence.
Catherine was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and did her best to serve whenever she was called upon. She spent many hours studying scriptures and other religious books, trying to learn how to be a better person and find happiness and peace in life. She enjoyed helping others and donated to charities when she had the opportunity.
