Cheryl Lynn Howsare, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on September 10, 2026. She was 55. Born on July 20, 1971, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Cheryl carried with her a bright and cheerful spirit that brought warmth to the lives of those who knew and loved her.

A graduate of Altoona High School, Class of 1989, Cheryl moved through life with a gentle heart and a welcoming presence. She was almost always happy, and her warmth could be felt in the way she cared for others and in the comfort she brought simply by being herself. Those closest to her knew her as a wonderful, steady presence whose kindness and light made home feel even more like home.

Her proudest work in life was being a homemaker and mother to her two children. She gave herself fully to the everyday acts of love that shape a family, and she found deep meaning in caring for the people closest to her. Cheryl’s love was also reflected in the simple joys she cherished. She loved star-gazing, Devil’s Tower, and bears, finding wonder in the natural world and delight in its beauty and mystery.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, John Howsare, and by her children,  Cameron Howsare, and Callie Howsare. She will be deeply missed by her family, who knew her love, her warmth, and her cheerful spirit in the most personal and lasting ways. The memory of her gentle presence will remain a blessing to all who shared in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Patricia Walker.

Cheryl will be remembered with love for her warmth, her devotion to her family, and the brightness she brought into the world. Her life was a quiet and beautiful reminder of how much comfort, joy, and love one person can give.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
