Christopher Brice O’Connor, age 46, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 3rd, 2026, at home in Cheyenne, WY. He was born on November 25,1979 at Scott AFB, IL the son of Flora and Philip O’Connor. He was a graduate of Central High School and the University of Wyoming, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as and Officer in the United States Air Force, having completed ROTC. As a pilot, he flew UH-1N helicopters at Vandenburg AFB, California. Chirstopher transitioned to HH-60G Combat Rescue helicopters and assigned to Moody AFB, GA serving two deployments to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. He then was an Air Force instructor pilot at Fort Rucker, AL in the UT-1 single engine helicopter. He served a non-flying tour at Anderson AFB, Guam advising and supporting air operations in southeast Asia. He separated from the Air Force in March of 2019 while stationed at Nellis AFB, NV. While in the military he completed a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from Turro University. His military decorations include a Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Medal with 10 devices.
He is survived by his parents, his daughter Aloura of Cheyenne, his son Jackson, their mother, Kati Garner, both of Lochbuie, CO, a sister Jennifer Kamarad (Caleb), nephews Payson and Brayden Kamarad, all of Cheyenne. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends who cared for him dearly.
A Vigil service will be conducted at Schrader, Aragon & Jacoby Funeral Home, at 2222 Russell Ave, Cheyenne, WY on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of St. Mary on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 11:30 am, followed by a burial at the VA National Cemetery at 8301 Hildreth Rd, Cheyenne, WY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
