Clearsey M. Nichols, known affectionately as "Burr Head," passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at the age of 84. Born on November 25, 1940, in Hagerstown, Maryland, Clearsey embraced life with a remarkable spirit, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Clearsey attended Washington Street School in Hagerstown, and as an adult, made significant contributions in production roles at several companies, including the Hagerstown Shoe Company, Offray Ribbon Company and lastly, the Good Humor-Breyers Unilever Company from which she retired.

A woman of immense warmth and affection, she could light up any room with her smile, and those who had the pleasure of her company will forever cherish the simple joys they shared—whether it was sipping coffee while deep in conversation or indulging in her favored dish of tomatoes and macaroni.

Clearsey faced life's challenges with an unwavering strength and never lost her sparkle. She had the ability to connect with others, embracing everyone she met as a friend and never meeting a stranger. Her family and friends will remember her for her tireless devotion to those she loved.

Clearsey is survived by her beloved sister, Gloria Ocker-Showalter, her daughter, Zoe (Marston) Robinson, and her daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Marston) and Tom Keenan. She also leaves behind her beloved son and daughter-in-law, John and Bre Marston, along with eleven grandchildren: Ryan Smith, Roland Smith, Russell Smith, Jenny Farrah, Michael Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor, Eric Marston, Amberlie Burnett, Austin Marston, Kyle Marston, and Emma Marston, as well as 18 great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy and pride. Among her family, she is further remembered by her brother-in-law, Bill Wiltrout, her sister-in-law, Chantal Ocker, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom were touched by her love and spirit.

Clearsey is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold J. Nichols, and her son, James (Jimmy) Marston. She was also reunited with her parents, John and Helen Ocker, and her siblings: Joseph Ocker, Robert Ocker, Edward (Eddie) Ocker, and Helen (Boosie) Ocker-McAlister, along with Martha Ocker-Wiltrout and Elsie Ocker. Each of whom held a special place in her heart.

As we remember Clearsey, let us celebrate her life, her laughter, and her unwavering love for all of us. Her legacy lives on in our hearts and through the countless lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.
