Cheyenne

Constantin Turcov, a beloved engineer and cherished family man, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at the age of 88. Born on March 7, 1937, in Amvrosiivka, Ukraine, Constantin’s journey through life was marked by unwavering dedication to his family and a professional career that spanned many years in engineering, particularly in mining and construction.

A proud graduate of the Dnepropetrovsk Mountain Institute, Constantin earned a Master’s Degree in Mining Engineering in 1959. His career as an engineer included significant roles, most notably his years with Tate, where he left a lasting impact through his work ethic and expertise. With an outgoing personality and a great sense of humor, Constantin was well-loved by those around him. He had a thirst for knowledge and a spirit of curiosity that endeared him to family, friends, and colleagues alike.

Constantin's love for his family was profound, and he often regarded his greatest achievements as the love and upbringing of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Liudmila Turcova; his daughter, Tatiana Steele, and son-in-law, Richard Steele; his son, Ghennaide Turcov; and his treasured granddaughters, Anna and Julia Steele. Each of them carries forward his legacy of love and dedication.

He will be fondly remembered for his many talents and hobbies. Constantin was an avid chess player and enjoyed teaching the game to those around him. He had a passion for volleyball, dancing, and singing, and he took great pride in his woodworking skills. Moreover, he nurtured a thriving vegetable garden that he loved tending to, sharing its bounty with family.

Constantin was a beloved member of a Russian community and will be remembered as Grandfather Frost (a Russian equivalent of Santa Claus), whom he played during Christmas celebrations.

Those who knew him will cherish their memories of moments spent solving crossword puzzles together, as well as the imaginative stories he created to engage his little ones. His culinary skills were remarkable—he was known for making the best fried potatoes, a simple yet profound delight that brought joy to family gatherings.

Constantin is preceded in death by his father, Piotr Turcov, and his mother, Anna Podmogilnaya, who lovingly called him "Kotik," a nickname with deep familial meaning.

As we mourn the loss of Constantin Turcov, we celebrate a life well-lived—a man who filled his days with laughter, love, and an abiding dedication to family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
