David Lee Dunn, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Born on October 22, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri, David led a life marked by dedication, passion, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Throughout his dynamic career, David thrived in various fields, including the restaurant business, sports and outdoor sales and management, as well as automotive mechanics and body repair service. He was known for his exceptional ability to assess, diagnose, and fix almost anything to the highest standards, showcasing a remarkable skill set that made him a valuable asset in every endeavor he undertook.
A proud veteran, David served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. His time in the military instilled a strong work ethic and a sense of duty that he carried throughout his life. Following his military service, David pursued further education at a technical college, honing his talents in mechanics and business.
David's love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, which included fishing, hunting, golfing, and nurturing a green thumb to plant anything that would grow. He was also a passionate lover of music, frequently playing guitar, and had a particular fondness for firearms. Whether he was enjoying a good barbecue, savoring a cold Dos Equis, or sipping a glass of fine Bourbon, David's zest for life was infectious.
Known as a people person, David was sharp, witty, and always the first to lend a hand. He formed lasting relationships, putting people first and embodying the spirit of a true fixer. His family remembers him as a devoted man who deeply valued the connections he made throughout his life.
David's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Julia Dunn, his daughter Jami Martinson and her husband Kenneth, along with his adored grandchildren Timothy McEntee (Cheyenne) and Alexandra Martinson (Jake), and great-granddaughter Paxton. He was the oldest of six siblings including Ann Marie Dunn, Debbie Rozier (Dave), Tim Dunn (Elaine), Margaret Lehman (Bill), Sharon Zinanti (Ray) and a beloved uncle to Beth West (Ben), Michael Rozier (Audrey), Matthew Dunn (Alicia), Patrick Dunn (Trish), Hannah Chavez (Trevor), and Preston Lehman.
David joins his father Jearold Dunn and mother Dolores Dunn, in eternal peace. His legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
