David Stoddard (82) passed away peacefully on May 21st with his sons Chris and Tony by his side. Cremation has taken place. There will be private family service at a later date.

David was born on September 22nd 1943 in Portland, Oregan to David and Marjorie Stoddard.

David served our country in the Air National Guard from 1961-1965 as a Medical Service Specialist. He went on to work for United Airlines where he flew for 40 years. Many friends and family members remember his “Safety Check” advertisement on United Airlines Flights. David enjoyed flying all over the world. In early 2000, he was very privileged to have been the pilot of the first charter fight carrying troops into Kuwait. David visited so many places and loved Hong Kong and Hawaii. After he retired from United, he continued to fly privately for several more years. He enjoyed being able to travel to Hawaii with his close friend Karen Wunderlich of 22 years. David was a member of the Cheyenne Frontier Days PR Committee and a member of the Screen Actors Guild. David had a passion for flying, art, piano, jazz and most of all the ranch.

He is survived his sisters Pam Fry, Becky (Shane) Prescott and Margie (Al) Durant and his brother Jeff (Shauna) Stoddard. His sons Christopher (Karna) Stoddard and Anthony (Cathy) Stoddard. His grandchildren Chandra Stoddard, Shayla (Preston) Bowers, Bridger Stoddard, Jordan Stoddard and Tylar Stoddard. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Britton, Barrett and Lettie whom he loved dearly. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Alice.

Memorials can be sent to an animal shelter of your choice, Wounded Warrior Project or Saint Jude Children’s Hospital.
