Diane "Dee" Melander, passed away on October 19, 2026 in Cheyenne, WY at the age of 94. She was born May 30, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Theodore and Allah Lutz.

At first glance, Dee was the sweet old lady who was a social butterfly with a zest for life. Spending more than just a few minutes with Dee, one would see Dee was genuine, had a heart of gold, and wished happiness for everyone. She would quickly find a home in the heart of anyone that walked into her life and became part of the family for many. She truly cared about the people who crossed her path and she would find ways to provide encouragement, support, and care by sending little cards, leaving random Post-it notes, sending emails, making phone calls, and reaching out on Facebook.

She also cared deeply about many causes and showed this by donating and volunteering in the community with organizations like Relay for Life and joined the Red Hat Society. She was a faithful Christian and attended Grace United Methodist Church from the time she moved to Cheyenne. In lieu of flowers, Dee has asked that donations be made to Grace United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her kids, grandkids, extended family and will be greatly missed by them, her "bonus" family, and many friends. There will be a celebration of life at Grace United Methodist Church on May 29, 2027. The time is yet to be determined.
