Donna May
Fox
May 2, 1937 – May 2, 2026
Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home
Starts at 1:00 pm (Mountain time)
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donna Fox on May 2, 2026, at the age of 89. Donna was born on May 2, 1937, in East Chicago, Indiana to Harry and Doreen Struhs. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald William Fox (Jerry) on August 6, 1955.
After fourteen years of married life east of the Mississippi, Donna and Jerry took their six children west and made their home in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Eventually two more Wyoming born children would take the tally to eight.
Donna’s greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and family was the most important thing to her. She loved raising her children (four boys, four girls), and her numerous grandchildren. Family gatherings were something she embraced. Not only was she a good cook, but she could cook for an army.
Some of those family gatherings involved treks up to the mountains which she loved. Vedauwoo recreation area and Snowy Range, particularly the Libby Creek picnic area, were some of her favorite places to go.
If any family member was involved in a sporting event, play or concert you could expect to see her, an avid supporter, heartily cheering them on. She loved to give advice, had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. As the matriarch of our family she was the glue that held us together. If you ever wanted to know what family members were up to, she was the hub for that information.
One of the last additions to the family was her Yorkshire terrier, Lucky, purchased five years ago with the profits she acquired through her ”luck” at betting on the horses. Lucky filled her nurturing void when grandchildren became too old to need care.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, sister Nan Stuart, brothers Tom Struhs and Donald Struhs. She is survived by eight children, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on June 19, 2026, at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home, Cheyenne Wyoming.
