Doris "Anne" Sutton, 79, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, at the Davis Hospice Center, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous two-year battle with ALS.
Anne was a loving mother and wife who poured herself into her family and her community. Anne devoted over 30 years of her life to the families of Cheyenne as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. With her gentle spirit, she was there for some of the most sacred moments in a family's life — welcoming new lives into the world. She also shared her knowledge and compassion as a Lamaze instructor, guiding countless mothers and families.
Anne was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where her faith was a cornerstone of everything she did. She found Heavenly Father's greatness reflected in the world around her — in blooming flowers, in the quiet of nature, and in the animals she so dearly loved.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Charles “Lamar” Janson, Doris Janson and two siblings Marla and David.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Steven Sutton; her sons, Scott Morris (Michelle) and Randy Morris (Sheri); and her daughters, Kristin Dafoe (Rob) and Kara Aguirre (William); seven siblings, along with several cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a woman who gave life and celebrated it — not only in her work, but in every room she entered.
A celebration of life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Cultural Hall, 3312 East Lincolnway, Cheyenne Wyoming, Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 3:00 p.m . All are invited, comfortable and causal attire welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the ALS Association in Anne's memory.
