Dot Deselms, affectionately known by many as Dotters, Dotty, Dotapatamous, and Dotasaurus, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Born on August 3, 2009, in Carpenter, Wyoming, Dot lived a rich and meaningful life that touched the hearts of countless individuals.
As the beloved official Ambassador and Gallery Dog at Deselms Fine Art, Dot was more than just a fixture at gallery parties—she was their soul and heart. She graced every event with her presence, becoming the cherished hostess who welcomed all with warmth and unconditional love. Dot was a steadfast attendee of all the Capital Avenue Bronze Project Parties, where her gentle spirit and attentive nature made her a source of comfort and joy to everyone she met.
Dot’s personality was a beautiful blend of kindness, empathy, and healing. She was renowned not only as the best gallery hostess ever but also as the finest listener and healer. Through every celebration of successes and during moments of tragedy, Dot's quiet strength and loving nature offered solace. Her ability to simply be present, to let people love her and to love them back exactly as they were, created a sanctuary of peace and understanding for those fortunate enough to cross her path.
One of her most proud accomplishments was standing alongside her dad when he worked with people in recovery. Dot’s presence was a balm to many; she provided comfort and companionship to those yearning for hope and healing. She demonstrated, day after day, how the purest form of love can be transformative.
Dot had a zest for life clearly seen in her love of treats—cookies, cakes, and perhaps most especially French fries, brought her simple but undeniable joy. These moments of delight, shared amid bustling gallery parties and quiet recovery meetings, reflected the sweetness she brought into the world.
The end of Dot’s journey came gently after a long and beautiful life. Harvey, her devoted companion, holds an immeasurable gratitude for the precious time they shared. He had the honor of housing her and feeding her, but she was loved endlessly by so many. A true gift.
Though many people loved Dot and remain deeply touched by her presence, so numerous are these kind souls that their names cannot all be known or listed here. Her legacy, however, lives on in the hearts of those she comforted, celebrated with, and loved unconditionally.
Dot Deselms was truly a beacon of love, companionship, and healing. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in Deselms Fine Art, within the recovery community, and in the hearts of all who knew her. Rest in peace, Sweat Pea—you have left the world better than you found it.
