Elias (Lee) Spiros Galeotos, of Cheyenne passed away on January 27, 2026, at home in Cheyenne. He was born on May 26, 1933, in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Lee married Evangeline (Angie) Karajanis on June 16, 1957.
Lee was a member of the Cheyenne High class of 1951 and received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Economics from the University of Wyoming. He completed post graduate work in Public Administration and was granted a Carnegie Foundation Fellowship to the Institute of International Affairs, Geneva Switzerland.
As a young man he worked in the family business with his father and brothers operating The Blue Bird in downtown Cheyenne. Subsequently the family opened Uncle Charlies restaurant. Lee was passionate about his home state of Wyoming and spent his early professional career working for the State of Wyoming with the Clifford P. Hanson and Stanley K. Hathaway administrations, where he served in the departments of Labor & Statistics, Social Services, Budget & Purchasing, and the Department of Administration. Lee was very proud participating in the accomplishments of the Hathaway administrations repositioning of the State of Wyoming’s fiscal and operating structure. He subsequently worked in Washington DC with the National Governors Association, in Iowa with Governor Ray’s administration, in Denver with the Western Governors Policy Office, and in New York with the Orthodox Church in America.
After retirement Lee, spent his time working on properties he owned, traveling, spending time with family, and enjoying fellowship with friends over coffee every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at the Central Café. He believed in continuous education and was an avid reader throughout his lifetime, becoming well versed in numerous subjects. Lee is a founding member of Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Church of Cheyenne and worked diligently throughout his life in support and advocacy of his faith.
Lee is survived by his wife Angie Galeotos of Cheyenne; Son Sam Galeotos (Stacey) and their children Isabella and Nicolette Galeotos of Cheyenne: Brothers Paul and Frank Galeotos of Cheyenne; along with numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his son Christ Galeotos, brother John Galeotos, and his parents Sam and Elaine Galeotos.
A Trisagion prayer service is scheduled on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 6:00 pm at Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Church, 9505 Hynds Boulevard, Cheyenne, WY 82009. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 10:00 am, at Holy Apostles, with internment immediately following at Mountain View Memorial Park. A lunch reception will be held thereafter in The Gallery at The Metropolitan Downtown, 1701 Carey Avenue.
