Cheyenne

Elizabeth "Liz" Newlon, née Stearns, passed away at her home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on June 2, 2026, of natural causes. Born on March 11, 1951, in Denver, Colorado, Liz lived a life marked by warmth, laughter, and love.

To those she was closest to, Liz was a goofy, joyful, and caring presence—affectionately known as a "crazy mom and grandma." She delighted in playing pranks on those around her, adding a spark of fun to everyday moments. She delighted in gatherings over coffee and barbecue. Beyond her social spirit, Liz enjoyed quiet, creative pursuits such as gardening, crocheting, and assembling puzzles, activities through which she found peace and fulfillment. Among all her pastimes, watching westerns held a special place in her heart, offering comfort and entertainment throughout her years.

Liz’s legacy is beautifully reflected through her beloved family. She is survived by her two children: her daughter, Cora Brown and her husband Michael of Lakewood, Colorado, and her son, Richard Parker and his wife Alexia of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Her extended family includes seven grandchildren—Misti Parker and Melissa Civick of Colorado; Vicki Brown of Utah; and Hector, Alyvia, Eva, and Davina Parker of Cheyenne, Wyoming and  six great-grandchildren. Liz is also survived by her three brothers, Earl, Chris (Kim), and Matt (Lisa), and her sister Cindy (Roy), all residing in Colorado, including many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth "Liz" Newlon’s life was a testament to joy found in simple pleasures and heartfelt relationships. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her memory endures in the stories, laughter, and love she shared so freely.

A celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
