Fayline Kay Engrav, born on September 27, 1942, in Seattle, Washington, left this world on December 1, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, surrounded by the love of her family. Fayline's journey through life was marked by a profound dedication to her family, her community, and a spirited engagement in all the roles she cherished.
A devoted mother, Fayline poured her heart and soul into raising her children—Lawrence, Gregory, Jillene, and her late son, Michael. Together with her daughters-in-law, Paulette Engrav, Sue Engrav, Mary Engrav and her son-in-law, Scott Sutherland, they formed a tight-knit family that thrived on love and support. Her grandchildren—Jon, Collin, Grant, Nichole, Molly, Wendy, Abigail, Riley, Holly, Clara, Alexandra, and Rebecca—were a constant source of joy and pride for Fayline. She took immense pleasure in welcoming her great-grandchildren—Zoe, Nolan, Noah, Caul, Colton, and Creed—into her life, reveling in the youthful energy they brought.
Fayline's career was a heartfelt tapestry woven of love, volunteerism, and service. She dedicated countless hours to caring for her family and took on various volunteer positions that enriched her community. She was particularly proud of her time at the Veterans Affairs hospital and the Indian Village at CFD, where she gave so generously of herself. Fayline completed her education with a degree in cosmetology, pursuing her dreams while fostering a loving environment for her family.
In a partnership filled with laughter and support, Fayline and her beloved husband, Eugene Engrav, showcased the true meaning of companionship. Eugene, who began his journey as a farmer and carpenter, pursued higher education with their young children and wife by his side, ultimately becoming a respected CPA. His career found him working as a partner at McGladrey and Pullen while also dedicating himself to volunteering for CFD and later serving as Chairman of the Indian Committee, a role he cherished. He was a proud supporter of Ducks Unlimited and Cowboy Joe Club. A longtime member of Rotary, President of the Symphony, serving in the army and President of the Chamber were some of his proudest accomplishments. Their home was a welcoming haven where laughter reigned, and friends gathered, making everyone who stepped through the door feel at ease.
Fayline and Eugene shared a rich and active life together, with an endless array of adventures—golfing, traveling, and embarking on week-long ski trips every Christmas. They were busy, but amidst all their activities, they never lost touch with what mattered most: family. Thanksgiving, just a few days before Fayline's passing, was spent enveloped in warmth and love, as family gathered, exchanging stories and cherished moments alongside her during a brief battle with cancer.
As we remember Fayline, we reflect on her vivacious personality, her unwavering spirit, and the love she shared with him those around her. She may have left the physical world, but the legacy of her kindness and dedication will continue to inspire and resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate both Fayline and Eugene will be held on December 13, 2025, at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, beginning at 1:00 PM. Join us as we honor their special lives and the love that they fostered, emanating from the warm embrace of family that was their pride and joy.
