George Quentin Wheeler , 88, of Cheyenne died December 24, 2010 in Cheyenne, WY. He was born November 2, 1922 in Rupert, ID to Jessie G. and Ida E. Wheeler. He married Anna Dunn on November 30, 1980 in Cheyenne. He worked for Civil Service at F.E. Warren Air Force Base. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir for 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion, president of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees), past State President o f NARFE, AARP Treasurer, 25 year volunteer for United Medical Center, and a 25 year driver for Road to Recovery. He is survived by his wife, Anna Wheeler of Cheyenne; son, George Q. Wheeler, Jr. of Everett, WA; step-children, Larry Lee Dunn of Cheyenne and Sharon Kay Cave of Casper, WY, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephew and cousins. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois, his parents and siblings. Visitation will take place at Schrader Funeral Home Wednesday 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Trudy Robinson and David Vahle officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Those who wish may contribute to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, the CRMC Auxiliary, American Heart Assn, or American Lung Assn.
