Gladys L. Wood

Gladys L. Wood, age 89, passed away June 17, 2025 in Burns, Wyoming. She was born in Cheyenne, WY on November 12, 1935 to Bennie and Claudia Trimble. She grew up on a ranch north of Burns, WY with her brother, Wayne Trimble. She graduated from Burns High School and Parks Business School in Denver, Colorado.

She married McC Ray Wood and had 2 children, Kelly Dawn and Ty Ray Wood.

She worked at several offices for the State of Wyoming. Retired, Budget Office in the Governor's Office, Board of Charities and Reform and the Legislative Service Office. She retired after 36 years of service. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion and Airport Golf Club. Her hobbies included dancing, bowling, playing golf after she retired, playing piano, reading and enjoying morning coffee with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Ben and Myra Trimble, husband McC Ray Wood, daughter Kelley Dawn Hurst, her son Ty Ray Wood and her brother Wayne Trimble. She is survived by her grandsons Frankie Ray Hurst and Brent Alan Hurst, great grandson Devin Hurst, Great granddaughter Trinity Dawn Hurst and Great great grandson Elios Ray McDaniel. Nephews Steve (Robert) Trimble, Marty Trimble and Kathy (Jeff) Schrum.

A funeral service will be held at Shrader Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 25, at 10:00AM. A reception will follow after the funeral service and then a burial will take place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens at 12:00PM.
