Gloria Josephine Oglesby, affectionately known as "Punkie," was born on January 29, 1950, in Cheyenne. She passed away on September 5, 2025, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
Punkie enjoyed listening to music — everything from Elvis Presley to her brother's band (Dave and the Golden Oldies). She also enjoyed dancing. Among her favorite songs to dance to was “Wipe Out.” She had her own unique way of dancing. Punkie had a big heart and an even bigger personality. She was very spirited. You never knew what she was gonna do or say next. Always the life of the party whether she was dancing with you or cracking jokes, she loved making everyone laugh and tried to make sure everyone was having fun at family gatherings.
Things won’t be the same without her laughter and her charming personality; but she lives on through her family.
She is survived by her children Mike (Donna) Cain of South Dakota, David & Michelle Martinez of Wheatland, Robbie (Mitzi) GrandPre of Wheatland, and Leann Gardner of Cheyenne. Also, her 16 grandkids and 34 great grandkids, her brother Elmer (Jitter) and sister (Paula) Cain of Wheatland.
