Ian Matthew Strong, of Cheyenne Wyoming, passed away on September 6, 2026, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident the day before. He was born on September 16, 1994, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Ian lived with energy, heart, and a deep love for people. He grew up in Holdrege, Nebraska, and moved with his family to Cheyenne in 2011. Homeschooled through his school years, he completed high school and went on to build a life marked by hard work, adventure, and generosity. At just 16 years old, he started Strong Lawn Care and grew it into his own company. Over the years, he earned the loyalty of many customers, some of whom remained with him for more than 13 years, a reflection not only of his work ethic but of the trust and care he brought to others.

Ian embraced life fully. He loved sports and mountain climbing, and he enjoyed hunting and powerlifting, even winning powerlifting competitions. Music was also woven into his life from an early age. He began playing piano when he was just 3 or 4 years old and, playing mostly by ear, continued through adulthood. He also loved to travel, often exploring foreign countries with friends and sometimes on his own, making a point of going somewhere new every year. His adventurous spirit was matched by a steady kindness that drew people to him.

Those who knew Ian will remember a man who was kind, sweet, caring, loving, and giving. He helped others achieve their goals and encouraged them to find direction when they needed it most. He touched many lives and inspired others to become the best version of themselves. His faithful English Cream companion, Bailey, whom he had since puppyhood; was by his side through the years and remained a cherished part of his life.

Ian was briefly married to Savannah Jaspersen. Even in death, his life became a gift to others, as his family was told that through organ donation he saved five lives. That final act of generosity stands as a powerful reflection of the way he lived.

He is survived by his parents, Allen and Tammy Strong; his sisters, Addison Draves and her husband, Paul, and Grace Strong; and by his nieces and nephews, Conroy, Derek, and Alivia. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rachel Strong, as well as both sets of his grandparents. May the love of family, the memories he created, and the example he set bring comfort to all who mourn him.

A funeral service will be held on September 11, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Cheyenne Christian Fellowship, 107 Robert Ave, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82007. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Burns Cemetery, Burns Rd, Burns, Wyoming 82053. A reception will follow the graveside service at Cheyenne Christian Fellowship.

Ian’s life was filled with movement, music, determination, and compassion. He leaves behind a legacy of courage, generosity, and encouragement that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
