Jeanette Estelle Phelps
September 2, 1952 – February 13, 2026
Jeanette Estelle Phelps, a devoted wife, mother, and matriarch of four generations, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026. Born on September 2, 1952, Jeanette lived a life defined by the warmth of her kitchen, the beauty of her garden, and an unwavering love for her family.
Jeanette was most at home when she was surrounded by people. Whether she was tending to her flowers, baking her signature treats, or preparing a meal for a crowded table, she found her greatest joy in hosting family gatherings. Her legacy lives on in the recipes she shared and the garden beds that will bloom in her memory.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Patrick Phelps. She leaves behind her loving daughters: Jean Arliss Johnson, Leslie Anne Staggs and Elliza Johnson
Jeanette’s light continues to shine through her seven grandchildren: Jean Laure Anne Johnson, Daniel Patrick Rodriguez, Jacob Alexander Rodriguez, Jacob James Staggs, Zachary Michael Staggs, Talazia Garceau, and Terrel Garceau.
She was also the doting great-grandmother of Odysseus Kiser Smith, Calvin Lee Martinez, Annaliegha Dale Martin, Robert Micheal Baker, Raven Renee Baker , and Twyla Estelle Garceau.
Jeanette was the true heart of her home, especially with four generations to look after. Family and friends are invited to honor Jeanette’s life at the following services:
Rosary Service on Wednesday, Feb 25 at 6:00 PM, Shader Funeral Home
Funeral Mass on Thursday, Feb 26 at 1:30 PM, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church

Jeanette’s life was a testament to the idea that there is always room for one more at the table. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
