On Friday July 24th at 7:30 am beloved wife, friend, mother and grandmother Jerrie DanceMabus transitioned to a better place in the universe. She was attended by family at the time of passing. Known for her beautiful smile and big heart she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jerrie was born June, 1957, in San Antonio Texas to a military family that traveled the world eventually settling down in Alexandria Louisiana. She was married to Jan her husband of 36 years. 

Jerrie had bachelor's and master's degrees in healthcare administration and was a PhD. candidate. Jerrie owned and operated an art gallery in a busy truck stop and sold her landscape paintings to truckers who loved her work. Her paintings were spread from coast to coast by them. Jerrie had many jobs and skill sets under her belt among them town manager (Saguache, Colorado), over the road truck driver and various managerial positions but she would like to be remembered as an artist foremost. 

She was very social and counted bowling as one of her favorite hobbies. She would often organize block party barbeques and also loved going on walks in the park. Jerrie loved showing off her new paintings to family and friends when they came to visit. She loved her two cats and they loved her. She enjoyed talking to people even if she didn't know them. 

Jerrie is survived by her husband Jan, her sons Jason Davis (Connie Davis) Jesse Davis (Char Rogers) and her grandchildren Hunter Davis, Tristan Rogers, Corynn Davis, Max Rogers, Jesse Davis III, Drake Jimenez, Zayne Jimenez, Ceara and Cali Fenster her brothers and sister Myrl Dance, Bobby Dance and Mary Vanmeter. 

She now joins those who preceded her in peaceful rest, her father Gene Dance, her mother Mary (Bell)Dance and brother Gary Dance each of whom she loved well. 

Jerrie will be warmly remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, her big heart and a calm demeanor combined with a quiet strength. She hated no one. Jerrie will always be loved by family and friends. 

Service arrangements will be shared with loved ones and friends at a later date to be announced.
