Jo Dell “Jodie” Wing, 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Cheyenne on May 19, 2025. She was born on August 21, 1935, in Rawlins, Wyoming, to Cale and Regina Riddle. She and her younger brother, Dick, grew up outside of Sinclair, where their father was employed by Sinclair Refinery.
In 1953, Jo Dell graduated from Rawlins High School and attended the University of Wyoming for a year. It was there that she met Charles Wing, the love of her life. They were married in Rawlins on October 8, 1954, and spent the first three years of their marriage in the Army, where her husband fulfilled a mandatory active duty tour. In 1958, they settled in Cheyenne, which has been their home for 67 years. They were blessed with a wonderful family and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2024.
She will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was dedicated to raising their four children. Jo Dell also was a special friend who cherished and enjoyed many friendships throughout her lifetime. During her later years, she found great joy in cheering on her grandchildren, faithfully following their athletic games, recitals and school events, always as their proudest supporter.
Jo Dell was a member of the Town and Country Women’s Club, Military Officers Wives Club, Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association and P.E.O. Chapter S. She was also proud to be a member of the National Guard community for more than 35 years.
