Obituary

John David Rodgers, 75, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on the 9th of September, 2026, while in the care of Davis Hospice. He was born in Mena, Arkansas.

After graduating from Casper College and Sam Houston State University, John worked for the Laramie County Sheriff's Office, Campbell County Sheriff's Office, and the Town of Burns. He also taught criminal justice courses at Laramie County Community College. For many years, he was the Scoutmaster of Troop 301. He found great joy in nature and outdoor activities. He was an avid reader and Cowgirl basketball fan.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Connie, and their sons and families: Kyle, Kristi, and Quinn of New Mexico, and Chris, Colleen, Ariann, and Alaina of Cheyenne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Theresa Rodgers, and his sister, Cecilia Miller.

The family will celebrate his life next summer in a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions to be made to the Davis Hospice Center of Cheyenne in his name.
