Jose Guadalupe Levario-Herrera

Jose Levario, age 70, passed away in a tragic accident, near his home north of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. He was born February 16,1954 in Mexico.  

Jose had worked in Texas and Colorado before arriving in Wyoming in 1990.  He worked for the pig farm in Albin, Wyoming. He also worked for Memo Serrano in his fencing business and Margarito Gomez in his concrete business.  He worked on the farm of Jack and Jeannie Hockersmith and for elderly residents in Pine Bluffs. No information about Jose’s family is known.

Most people knew Jose as the guy who rides the bicycle around the town of Pine Bluffs. He transported his food, his tools, and yard equipment on his bicycle for miles in all kinds of weather.  His friends knew him as a quiet and a private man. Pine Bluffs became his home. He worked hard and would do any job that he was asked to do. He also had mechanical skills and tinkered on just about anything that needed repairs. 

Jose was close to Margarito Gomez and his family from Burns, Wyoming. He sometimes would ride his bike there to visit them, a 30-mile round trip! They welcomed him as a member of their family, including him in many of their activities. 

 Jose will be missed by all his friends in Pine Bluffs and surrounding areas. There will be a Celebration of Jose’s Life on May 25, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Historic High School, 607 Elm Street, Pine Bluffs, Wyoming.  A meal will be served.
