Kathryn (Kathy) Mary Schroeder died suddenly on July 4, 2025 offshore Alaska on the Viking ship Venus. She was born on February 15, 1939 in Watervliet, New York, the daughter of Robert and Anne O’Donahoe.
She married Wesley Winters of Troy, New York on December 27, 1965. Following his death in 1975 she married Thomas (Tom) Schroeder of West Palm Beach, Florida in 1976. Kathryn retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1996, continuing service as a contractor until moving to Cheyenne in 2002.
She was an accomplished pianist. She served her churches as cantor and lector and held a diocesan credential for religious education. She was an ice skater and skier. She enjoyed cruising woodlands and camping.
Kathy was preceded in death by her sister Sarah Anne (James) Conway of Westfield, Massachusetts and brother Robert (Mary) O’Donahoe of Citra, Florida. She is survived by her brother John (Pat) O’Donahoe of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Visitation will be on Sunday July 20 at 5pm at Schrader, Aragon, and Jacoby Chapel followed by a vigil for her at 6pm. The funeral liturgy will be on Monday July 21 at 10am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1836 Hot Springs Avenue, Cheyenne.
