Obituary

Kyle Eric Reiman, born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on June 4, 1989, passed away in his beloved hometown on April 28, 2026. His fragile body, long challenged by Muscular Dystrophy, finally yielded after a lifelong battle that was met with an extraordinary spirit of resilience. Kyle’s story is one inscribed with the quiet but profound bravery found in those who navigate the world with limitations but limitless heart.

Though his mobility was limited,  he poured his passion into volunteering—offering his time and love at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter and the VA Hospital. In these acts of service, he touched lives far beyond the reach of any workplace title. His presence, sweet and spicy, quietly steady and wickedly funny, made lasting impressions. He was an animal lover with an astonishing memory for facts about nature, a bright mind nurtured by a lifelong curiosity and compassion.

Kyle’s sweet soul taught every person he encountered invaluable lessons about perseverance, happiness, and kindness. Friends and family alike remember him as a beacon of strength and joy, one who changed them all for good. His love for his family was fierce and enduring, an unbreakable bond that carried him through even the toughest days.

A graduate of Central High School in 2007, Kyle also attended Laramie County Community College, embracing each opportunity to learn and grow. But it was his imagination that truly sparked wonder. For years, Kyle shared his world with two imaginary friends—Alice and Dorothy—who were welcomed warmly at family dinners, their unseen presence a source of laughter and whimsy. Those moments, these playful inside jokes, brought joy and light out of the ordinary. Family stories abound, reminding us of the warmth and humor he infused into everyday life.

One treasured memory stands out vividly: leaving the Butterfly Museum in Denver, where Kyle exclaimed with awe, “Butterflies are like... WOW.” This simple, genuine wonder captured the essence of a man who saw magic in the smallest details. His room overflowed with animals and nature art, a sanctuary filled with the beauty he so deeply loved. He delighted his nieces and nephews by teaching them video game tricks and strategies, moments of playful connection treasured by Clayton, Mackenzie, Reilly, Macie, Tripp, Donovan, Wade, and Bridger.

Among his many adventures, Kyle’s 2006 Make-A-Wish trip to the Galapagos Islands stands as a shining testament to his adventurous spirit. Alongside his family, he traveled the world, collecting memories that painted the tapestry of his remarkable life.

Kyle is survived by a loving circle of family: his father Wally Reiman and mother Pam Reiman; sisters Lauren Benford and Cailey Garrett, with brothers-in-law Dan Benford and Jeff Garrett; his beloved nephews and nieces; and extended family including Vickie and Kurt Peth, Colin McKenney, Philip and Patti McKenney, Bob (R.C.) and Kay Reiman, Tom Reiman, Sharon (Christy) Reiman, and seven cherished cousins. Their lives, woven tightly with Kyle’s, will carry forward his legacy of love and laughter. He was also preceded in death by grandparents Bob and Eileen Reiman, and Harold and Patricia McKenney, whose memories live on.

Kyle’s wit and wisdom often shone through his favorite pastime of reciting quotes from Disney movies, a lifelong joke that could lift any mood with a few well-chosen words. His essence remains—a wonderful blend of sweetness and strength, bravery and humor, relentless kindness and fierce love.

In remembering Kyle Eric Reiman, we honor a life that, though quietly lived, roared with the power of spirit and love. His journey, marked by courage and grace, leaves an indelible mark on all fortunate enough to have known him. The world was brighter with him in it, and though he is gone, the echo of his laughter, the breadth of his heart, and the depth of his courage will forever remain with us.
