Linda Louise McAffee

Linda L. McAffee, a cherished member of the Cheyenne community, passed away on August 12, 2026. Born on August 1, 1946, in Linz, Austria, while her father served in the U.S. Army, Linda's life was marked by love and dedication to her family.

She shared a memorable journey with Ralph Burchell, experiencing love at first sight and welcoming three daughters who joined Ralph’s two girls. Though their paths eventually diverged, Linda was blessed to find true companionship with Dale McAffee, whom she considered her soulmate.

Linda dedicated her career to the State of Wyoming's HR department until her retirement. Her passions included camping, traveling, and enjoying music sung by Pepi. She found joy in crocheting, reading, and nurturing a garden full of flowers. Many treasured memories were made as she and Dale took their grandchildren to Jackson for the Cutter Races, celebrating family traditions and a love for the outdoors.

She is survived by her daughters Lori Holt (Steve Cleghorn), Cheri Edwards, Kristi Davis (Mike), Cathrine Harshbarger (Bob), Bonnie Hughes, along with eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, George Louis Folmer and Norma Marie Sater Folmer, her brother Nicholas, granddaughters Andrea Battle and Deahna VanOss, grandson Robert Fronapfel, and son-in-law William “Billy” Holt.

Private services will be held, and her final resting place will be alongside her beloved Dale at Mountain View Memorial Park.

In remembrance of Linda, donations may be made to the Cheyenne Breast Cancer Initiative, which supported her daughter’s battle, or to Tunnels to Towers, reflecting Linda's enduring compassion for others.
