It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lois Lumsden, who peacefully passed away in her sleep on May 18, 2026.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Marie, and Marie’s children, Ben, Alex, and granddaughter Bailie; as well as her son, Chris, his wife, Teri, and their daughter, Shelby. She was preceded in life by her husband Art, and many loved family members and friends who will surely welcome her with open arms.

Lois was born in Algona, Iowa where she grew up alongside her sisters Norma, Mary Lou, and brother Bill. In her early twenties, while working in Colorado, she met Art. The two married and eventually made their home in Cheyenne, where Lois lived for more than 70 years.

Much of Lois’s career was spent working for the State of Wyoming Department of Recreation, where she dedicated many years of service. Above all else, Lois treasured time spent with her family. She was known for her sharp wit, contagious laughter, and love of playful conversation — always ready to “bandy” words and share a joke.
