Marietta Jo Larson, 90, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026. Marietta was born January 22, 1936, in Casper, Wyoming, to Ted and Marie Pittman. She moved to Albin, Wyoming at age 12 and graduated from Albin high school in 1954.

Marietta earned a B.A. degree in Education with a Teaching Certificate from Biola College in Los Angeles, California. After teaching school for a year, she followed her dream to become a missionary. After receiving training with Wycliffe Bible Translators, she worked in Papau New Guinea doing tribal work. When she returned to the United States, she continued teaching and traveled throughout Central and South America and the Philippines creating curriculum.

Her first marriage was to Dick Brett, and she married Richard Larson on July 11, 2013, and moved back to Albin, Wyoming. She had a keen mind and enjoyed doing research, publishing two books. She will be remembered for her hospitality, humor, and love for others. This flowed from her love and commitment to Jesus Christ.

Marietta had 3 siblings and is survived by her sister Betty’s children, Dave and Rob Nussbaum and Sue Deselms. The graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, at Albin Cemetery in Albin, Wyoming. Light refreshments will be served at the Albin Baptist Church fellowship hall.
