Following cremation at Schrader’s Sunset Park Crematory, a memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, December 12th at 10:00 a.m. at the Schrader Chapel with interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday, December 11, 2009, from 8:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home. CHEYENNE, WYOMING — Mrs. Martha Marty Dale Winemiller, 71, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Wednesday evening, December 9, 2009, at the Northern Colorado Long Term Hospital following a long battle with lung disease. Marty was born March 19, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of Dale and Ruth (Porter) Rains. Marty was a graduate of Lafayette High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. She married the love of her life, Jon Harvy Winemiller on January 21, 1956, in St. Joseph. In January 1967, her husband accepted a job in Cheyenne and a week later, she traveled cross-country with her three children to join her husband. She was employed with the Wyoming Fish & Game, the Internal Revenue Service and lastly as a survey records clerk for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, retiring after 21 years of service with the federal government. She was fascinated with locomotives and had a varied collection. She will also be remembered for her talent at making pies and for her fried chicken that she would make for the Cheyenne Frontier Days contract act volunteers. Marty is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Jon H. Winemiller, of Cheyenne; a son, Jon D. Winemiller and wife, Cher, of Cheyenne; two daughters, Debbie Sue Shinstine and husband, Lewis, of Bedford, Virginia, and Vickie Ruth Steele and husband, Gary, of Saratoga; five grandchildren, Michael Winemiller, Cassie Winemiller, Heidi Shinstine, Sarah Shinstine, and Jake Steele and wife, Maryanne; a great-grandson, John Steele; and her sister-in-law, Billie Sue Sollars of St. Joseph. She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Rains; and a sister, Alice Ruth Trulock. Expressions of sympathy in Marty’s memory can include flowers for the service or a donation may be made to the Meals-on-Wheels.
