A Vigil for the Deceased will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Schrader Funeral Home with a Funeral Liturgy to follow at St. Mary’s Cathedral at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Joseph Hart as celebrant. Interment will be held at Olivet Cemetery with a reception to follow at Little America at 3:30 p.m. Cremation has taken place at Schrader’s Sunset Park Crematory. Mary Barbara Murray, 79, of Cheyenne, died April 1, 2010, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. She was born May 8, 1930, in Stamford, CT to Willard and Mary Margaret McDonald. She married Donald F. Murray on October 26, 1957, in Cheyenne. Barbara was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and served as the first woman on the Board of Directors of DePaul Hospital. For many years, she volunteered at both DePaul and Memorial hospitals in Cheyenne in multiple capacities. Barbara’s life was always centered on her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Ann (Murray) Broadbent and her husband, Steve, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Donna Ann Murray and her husband, Michael O’Donnell, of Cheyenne; three grandchildren Lauren, Kate and Grace; a sister, Patricia Ann McDonald of Scottsdale, Arizona; a sister, Arlene J. Engbretson of Cheyenne; a brother John F. McDonald of Surprise, Arizona; and two sisters-in-law, Therese Murray (Bill) and Barbara Murray (Ned) of Cheyenne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Murray in May, 2002; two sons, Thomas P. Murray in 1975 and Daniel E. Murray in 1994; and a brother Willard (Bud) McDonald in 2002; her brothers-in-law, Bill Murray and Ned Murray. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s School, 2200 O’Neil, Cheyenne, WY 82001, or a charity of choice.
