Mary E. (Carr) Rothermund, 97, of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming died November 16, 2021 in her home.
Mary was born June 11, 1924 in Omaha, Nebraska.
During World War II she worked at a bomber plant in Omaha, Nebraska then at the Kellogg’s ereal plant while it was still in Omaha. While in Omaha she met Willis E. Rothermund and they worked there together until they were married on July 22, 1950 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After they married, she was a homemaker and mother to their daughter, Kristie, who they adopted in 1965.
Mary and Willis celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary before Willis’ passing in 2003. She was a member of Royal Neighbors and the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church.
Mary was a woman of great positive attitude and deep faith. She loved Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyers and read their books without fail. She loved to embroider and was also an avid reader of other non-fiction authors. She gave to various charities as well and as often as she could. She enjoyed gardening, yellow roses and taking walks outside.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Kristie Moritz; son-in-law, Greg Moritz; grandson, Joseph Cooley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. followed by an interment in the Pine Bluffs Cemetery.
