Mary Jane Tatum

Mary Jane Tatum, 71, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away on September 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with a respiratory illness. 

She was born on April 20, 1951 in Greeley, Colorado to William and Betty Morrison.  She married Rollie A. Tatum on December 13, 1968 and she then graduated from Cheyenne Central High School in 1969.  

Mary was a dedicated employee of Mountain Bell starting as a telephone operator, retiring in 2003 with 32 years of service.  She was an avid doll collector and a Betty Boop fan.  She was a life-time member of the official Betty Boop Fan Club.  Mary loved spending time in the kitchen and creating delicious meals for her family.  Her grandchildren loved her homemade cinnamon rolls.  Some of her favorite memories are from camping and traveling to yearly Tatum family reunions in Missouri.  She spent a great deal of time with all her grandchildren, and they fondly remember that grandma loved to tease them. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Rollie Tatum; daughters, Janel Tatum of Cheyenne and Mendi Tatum (Casey Dean) of Cheyenne; son, Andy Tatum (Heidi) of Cheyenne; brother, William Morrison, Jr. of Cheyenne; sisters, Sandy Halbrook of Gillette, Wyoming, and Paula Wilson of Cheyenne; and six grandchildren, Ryan Bruner, Isabelle Bruner, Abigail Bruner, Hunter Horton, Emily Tatum and Rogan Tatum. 

She is preceded in death by her father, William Morrison and mother, Betty Hollenbeck.

A family viewing and funeral services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.  The viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the funeral service to immediately follow at 3:00 p.m.  A reception will follow the funeral at 4:00 p.m. at the picnic shelter next to the Cheyenne Aquatics Center at 901 Martin Esquibel Drive, Cheyenne.  Cremation and internment to follow at a later date.
