Morris John
Kittleman
May 14, 1959 — May 23, 2026
At his best, Morris was a very kind, loving, and caring son to Harry and Meredith, brother to Tom, father to Nick, husband to Erin, and a friend to many, many wonderful people that he tried to stay close to throughout his life. Morris loved his son Nicholas (Nick) Kittleman with all his heart and cherished their time together. Morris's dad, mom, and brother passed away several years ago. Morris has a surviving sister-in-law, Virginia Kittleman, and two nieces, Ashton and Leighton. And a surviving cousin, Heather Jareki and family, who stayed in touch with Morris for many years. Morris and Erin Kittleman, spent 20 years together before separating. Erin cared for Morris medically and financially for the next 16 years until he passed away from complications from a stroke and alcoholism. Erin and Nick had a chance to spend time with Morris in Cheyenne, WY, the week before he died - a blessing for all.
For 30+ years was a nurseryman working for De Moines Way Nursery and owners Hal & Francis. Morris later worked for Mike Carpenito, owner of Carpenito Brothers. He loved his job at both locations. Morris knew every plant's Latin name and could diagnose any plant disease or condition. Morris later became a Himalayan climbing guide working for Andy Broom at his British expedition company.
Erin and Morris met in Kathmandu, Nepal on an expedition trip to the 5th highest mountain in the world, Mt. Makalu in the Himalayas. Erin was trekking to base camp and Morris was climbing on a trip with good friends. After the expedition, Morris returned to Kathmandu, found Erin, and they flew home together to Seattle. After 5 years, they married, and lived in Kathmandu, Nepal for a few years, before returning to Seattle to live on Queen Anne. Morris spent the last 5 years of his life in Cheyenne, Wyoming to be close to his dad who moved there before him.
For those who knew Morris, we will cherish our fond memories of the many adventures we had together.
