Nancy L. Talkington

January 10, 1944 — December 11, 2025

Cheyenne

Nancy was born on January 10th, 1944 to Glenn and Betty Pace in Alexandria Louisiana while Glenn was serving in the military. Nancy was an only child but had a large extended family. She was raised on a ranch just outside of Hillsdale, WY. She attended and graduated from Hillsdale k-12. Nancy was a cheerleader and excellent student. She graduated after only three years of high school. She married Les Talkington on June 3, 1961. The couple lived in the Cheyenne area until 1975. The couple then moved to Hillsdale to live on a ranch where Nancy had grown up as a child.

The Talkington’s raised horses, sheep, and cattle. While Les ran a construction company, Nancy stayed home and operated the ranch. One of her joys was lambing the sheep during lambing season. Nancy also ran a successful crafting/clothing business with her daughter Lana and friend Tracy Merrick.

Nancy loved her family both immediate and extended. The Federer family gatherings were especially important to her. She loved gardening, especially with her special companion Riley Anderson. The two spent many years planting and harvesting. She had a special connection with her barn cats, her dogs, and especially her chickens.

Nancy was a kind and gentle soul who was loved by all who knew here. She enjoyed watching her husband and children participate in rodeo and sporting events. Nancy enjoyed following University of Wyoming sports teams and especially the Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball team. She even would travel to Laramie to watch them practice.

Nancy is survived by her husband Les Talkington. Her children Monty Talkington (Yudelka Mota) and Lana Talkington (Rodney Beeton). Her Grandchildren Josh (Alex) Talkington and Tawny (Ryan) Witty and her great grandchildren Savannah and Emma Talkington and Ryder and Audie Witty.

Nancy was preceded in death by her Grandparents (John and Antonia Federer and Claude and Beulah Pace) parents (Glen and Alice Pace) and her son Cy Talkington.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Batezini and staff for the excellent care Nancy received. We would also like to acknowledge Davis Hospice Center with sincere appreciation. Dayna and Tracy were a godsend during Nancy’s care.

A celebration of life will be held for Nancy at Little America on Thursday December 18th from 2:00p to 4:00p.

Family and friends are encouraged to attend.
