Nell "Marlene" Wood

June 1, 1936 — June 23, 2025

Cheyenne

Nell “Marlene” Wood passed away peacefully at her family home on June 23rd, 2025. Marlene was born in Cushing, Oklahoma, and spent her early years in Oklahoma, Massachusetts, and Texas. She later followed in her father’s footsteps to the University of Wyoming, where she earned her bachelor's degree and planted roots in the Cowboy State. She made her home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she married and began raising a family with three children. Eventually, Marlene returned to her home state of Oklahoma, settling in Bartlesville, where she lived for several decades. A healthcare professional, Marlene worked for many years as an MRI and CT technologist. Outside of work, she enjoyed time with friends. She played tennis well into retirement and amassed a close set of like-minded friends, who remained close until her passing. Marlene was known for her quiet strength and calm, kind demeanor. She was a steadfast friend and a loving mother, always willing to lend an ear or offer the support and guidance needed. She is survived by her brother, John Wood, and his family; her children, Christy Pearson, Mike Pearson, and Pat Pearson with his wife Michelle; and her beloved grandsons, Braden and Jase, as well as many nieces and nephews. Marlene was cherished by many, loved by all, and will be dearly missed.
