Nona Weber

Nona Gayle Weber was born to Frank and Emma Ring on February 14, 1927, on a farm just outside Bridgeport, Nebraska. Nona and her sister moved to Cheyenne, WY with their mother in 1939. Nona married Bobby Homan in November of 1945. Two daughters were born to the couple: Catherine Sue and Constance Hope. They divorced in 1949. Nona married Anton (Tony) Farro in 1950 and had two sons: TC, Farro and Tony Lundon Farro. The couple divorced in 1958. In 1961, Nona found love and married Bob Weber. He passed in 2005.

Nona's life was commanded by her heart and centered on providing care and service to community members of all ages. She was the embodiment of true western spirit. She was an excellent employee that included: managing the Furniture Barn, Laramie County Bus Driver for 10 years, and providing private home care for several Cheyenne families.

Nona was well decorated and recognized as a volunteer for numerous organizations in Cheyenne for over 40 years, starting in the '70's. Most dear to her heart were Youth Alternatives (33 years), Help Line, Special Friends, and Laramie County Community College. Notable volunteer awards include: City of Cheyenne Juvenile Probation Volunteer in 1961 & 1963, 1979 City of Cheyenne Volunteer of the Year, Comae Shelter Volunteer award in 1985, Memorial Hospital Volunteer of the Year in 2002, United Medical Center Hospice Care Volunteer in 2002, Davis Hospice Center Volunteer for 9 years, and the US Presidential Silver Award for Volunteer Services in her Community in 2002.

Nona passed peacefully on August 26, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Weber, daughter Constance Homan Snyder, and sister Wilma Francis Kern.

She is survived by her sons, TC Farro and Tony Lundon Farro, daughter Catherine Sue White, Grandchildren: Heidi Fields, Heather Wilson, Dru Farro, Amber Farro, Allison Farro, and Kaitlin Farro; 2 Step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 6 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at Schrader's Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 3rd. Viewing starts at 11 am, services begin at 12 pm.

Donations in gratitude and memory of Nona can be made in her name to Youth Alternatives or LCCC.
