Patricia Breaux

September 17, 1927 — April 29, 2024

Cheyenne, Wyoming

Patricia Ruth Breaux, a cherished resident of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was born September 17,1927 in Omaha, Nebraska and peacefully passed away on April 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 96.

Pat was raised by her adopted grandmother Philenia Hill Barrington. She formed a bond that remained close throughout her life with Philenia and her brother Thomas P Murnane Jr (Pearl), who both preceded her in death. Pat was able to find the connections to her biological brother, Robert Allen (Carol) and they have grown their relationship for more than a decade.

Pat grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota, where she married her soulmate, Adam Breaux, whom she met at a dance. Despite Adam’s delayed call after meeting, their love blossomed. Their love story began with a double date arranged by a close friend, leading to a devoted marriage of 70 years from June 7, 1952 with an inseparable bond that lasted until Adam’s passing in 2022. As a military wife, Pat lived in various places, including South Dakota, Puerto Rico, Arizona, and Illinois before finally settling in Cheyenne in the early 1964.

Pat and Adam enjoyed many memorable times together, especially visiting with family and grandchildren. Pat faithfully remembered everyone’s birthdays and was always there in times of need. Pat and Adam enjoyed traveling in their younger years of retirement and explored coast to coast from Alaska to Canada to Mexico in their camper. They fished at Granite, painted, roofed, did concrete work together and built together. Mostly they built a family who will forever feel their love and share it with each other.

Throughout her life, she remained a dedicated wife, wearing her wedding set until her final moment. Patricia was known for her kindness, humor, and tenacity. She fiercely loved her family, tirelessly working towards their health, happiness, and well-being. Her joyful spirit and perfect blend of saltiness endeared her to all who know her. Pat loved dancing, singing, swimming, spending time with her family. She was an amazing friend, always offering the right words or listening ear.

Her sense of humor, especially about aging, could brighten even the darkest days. Pat had a knack for bringing joy to those around her and will be deeply missed. Yet her light will be celebrated eternally, as she joins her dear departed with a legacy of love and laughter.

Patricia Ruth Breaux was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Breaux her brother, Thomas Murnane Jr. (Pearl)
