Rachel MeiLi Siltzer, age 23, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away on September 27th due to complications related to a rare genetic condition. Rachel was born on June 26, 2002, in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Provence, People's Republic of China. She was adopted in May of 2004 by Randy and Kathy Siltzer and she joined her brothers at home, Evan and Colby Siltzer. In 2021, she graduated from Triumph High School. She attended Laramie County Community College and had achieved her CNA license. She loved science, spending time with her dogs, reading, learning and listening to music.
It took a village to raise this girl, but in time, she grew into a loving and caring, young woman with a passion to care for others. She was studying to go further into the medical profession when her health suddenly deteriorated beyond repair. She chose to spend her final days at Davis Hospice surrounded by family and friends before the angels came to take her to our heavenly home and into the welcoming arms of Jesus.
Rachel is survived by her loving parents and her two brothers. She is also survived by her beloved grandmothers, "Grandma Jo" Joanne Roedel and "Nana" Betty Siltzer, both of whom had the pleasure of traveling to China with Randy in 2004 to bring Rachel home to our family. She is also survived by her favorite aunt and confidante, Karen Terrell, family friend, BJ Haselman, Aunt Tina & Uncle Jody Hayes-Siltzer, Uncle Mike Roedel, and cousins, Avery and Hilary Terrell, and Julia and Kate Hayes-Siltzer. Rachel was preceded in death by an infant brother, Cale A. Siltzer, in 1999; just recently by her beloved Great-Aunt Carol Max, and in the past few years by her doting grandfathers, "Papa Dean" Roedel and "Grandpa Mack" Siltzer.
We wish to thank "The Village" that it took to help us raise and care for Rachel. From across Wyoming, Utah and Colorado, there are far too many people to name here but, hopefully, you know who you are, and please know that you made a difference. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts!
Rachel's wishes were to have any monetary donations in her memory made to:
