It is with the heaviest of Hearts that we announce the passing of Regenia Sue Ochoa, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She passed peacefully on November 12, 2024, in her residence in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Born Regenia Sue Pier, she was the third of four children born to Phyllis Jean and Harvey Gene Pier July 23, 1950, in Laramie, Wyoming. Regenia was married once, had five children: Meichelle Renee, Cinnamon Annette, Anneke Marie, Leailanie Frances and Manuel George. She lived a lot of places throughout her life including California, Arizona and even spent time overseas in Germany and Holland but always called Wyoming home. She drove tour busses, busses for seniors and even school busses (which brought her a special joy). She relished spending time with her sister, best friend and partner in mischief, Sandra Jean. Genia was luckier than most, finding love several times through the years and even finding her soulmate in Thomas Laird, who she now rejoins. She loved and was loved fiercely.
She was a unique soul that brought color to the world around her with a friendly smile and a kind heart. She loved children and animals, coffee with too much sugar and popcorn. She loved to laugh and be goofy, loved to play Bingo and loved her cat (each and every one of them). Her greatest joy in life was her family which she loved unconditionally. She was so proud of all of them and loved to show them off, covering her wall with photos. Genia loved people and was quick to make friends and connections wherever she went. Even her final days were spent making new friends and having a good laugh. Her memory will be cherished by those who were lucky enough to know her.
Regenia was preceded in death by both parents, brother; Fred Pier, sister; Sandra Lubbers, grandson; Johnny Lee, granddaughter; Cambrie Cassista and Great-grandson; Divine Allah. She is survived by her brother; Robert Pier of Laramie, Wyoming, 5 children, Meichelle Cisneros-Ochoa, 55, of Columbia, MO, Cinnamon Ochoa-Rodriguez, 54, of Clearlake, CA, Anneke Ochoa, 48, Leailanie Ochoa, 41 of Cheyenne, WY, and Manuel Ochoa, 37 of Newcastle, WY.
