Richard "Ric" DiNino

Richard "Ric" DiNino, aged 70, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Born on July 24, 1955, in Akron, Ohio, Ric was a dedicated professional and a cherished family member whose life touched many.

Ric devoted over 30 years of his career to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He started humbly in the mailroom and, throughout his remarkable journey, worked in various departments. Notably, Ric spent years at the outreach center, passionately assisting Vietnam veterans. His final role as a ratings specialist further exemplified his commitment to serving those who had served their country.

An individual of honesty and integrity, Ric was always willing to lend a hand, supporting friends and colleagues alike. He had an undeniable presence that could be both amiable and at times, challenging, reflecting a personality that was as complex as it was genuine.

Ric proudly enlisted in the Air Force immediately after high school, completing four years of active duty. His dedication to service continued as he joined the Wyoming Air National Guard, where he faithfully served for an additional 22 years.

Outside of his illustrious career, Ric enjoyed a variety of hobbies including riding his motorcycle, bowling, softball, golf and poker or getting lost in a good book. These interests not only brought him joy but also fostered connections with friends and family who shared similar passions.

Ric's final moments were spent surrounded by the love of his family, as his beloved mother, Hazel, and his devoted wife, Donna, were by his side when he passed. He is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer, and his grandson, Michael. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard "Dick," and his sister, Debbie.

As we remember Ric, we celebrate a man whose unwavering dedication to veterans and his loved ones will leave an enduring legacy in the hearts of all who knew him. His spirit will be greatly missed, but his contributions and the love he shared will remain a guiding light for many.
