Robert “Bob” Anderson of Albin, Wyoming passed away on January 14, 2026, in Cheyenne. He was born on January 9, 1947, in Kimball, Nebraska to Ed C. and Grace Anderson.
Bob married Tenetta Goertz on October 9, 1976, in Albin. Bob attended WyoTech in Laramie following his graduation from Albin High School in 1965. After that Bob worked surveying for the BLM in much of western Wyoming. Following that he was employed by Lew Hammer, Inc. in Denver, Colorado. He moved back to Albin to farm family ground. He worked for Bill Woodhouse for several years. After that he and his brother, Roger, opened and ran Albin Repair. Other jobs included driving school bus for LCSD #2, and he was the Albin Town Maintenance department for several years.
He was one of the original EMTs for Albin Rescue and continued that for many years. Along with that he was an active member of the Albin Fire District #3 starting 1973. He was also fire chief for 27 years. He deployed to several wild land fires as well.
He was a member of the Albin Town Council for many years and served as Mayor.
He hunted for elk in the Gros Ventre area of Wyoming and hunted doves in the local area here. He also enjoyed attending classic car shows, auctions, playing cards and traveling around the US.
He is survived by his wife, Tenetta, and children, Aaron and Allison, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John Roger Anderson and Raymond Anderson, and nephew Brett Anderson.
Services will be held at the Albin Community Center, 430 5th Avenue in Albin on January 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. His ashes will be scattered near the family cabin in the Gros Ventre Mountains at a later date.
